General Access Information
- The Film Theatre is fully accessible to people using
wheelchairs and has an accessible toilet. The cinema
has space for 4 wheelchair users - advance booking
these spaces is recommended.
- There is a disabled badge holder’s space in the car
park. The Hullabaloo restaurant and museum on the
first floor can be reached via a stair lift.
- The auditorium is fitted with a loop receiver which is
suitable for people with hearing aids with a T switch.
- The RBC accepts the CEA Card (Cinema Exhibitors’ Association Card). This is a national card that can be
used to verify that the holder is entitled to one free
ticket for a person accompanying them to the cinema.
- Application forms can be picked up from the box office
or downloaded from www.ceacard.co.uk.
For regular screenings, CEA Card holders will be
entitled to one free ticket for a person accompanying
them to the cinema.
- For Access Cinema screenings, anyone who needs to
bring along a helper to assist them in any way, will
receive a complimentary ticket.
- A large print copy of the
programme is available at
the Box Office upon request.
Access Cinema
- Access Cinema can be suitable for anyone
with any disability. Anyone with a disability is welcome to attend screening from
our main programme, but we hope that this initiative will
improve our accessibility to all members of the community. Please feel free to pass on any comments that you have about Access Cinema to front of house staff.
- For most of the films in our programme we can schedule a
special Access daytime screening for groups of 10 or more
visitors buying a ticket. The RBCFT will do its best to provide a
suitable environment to meet the groups’ needs. Anyone who
needs to bring along a helper to assist them in any way, will
receive a complimentary ticket.
- We can do the following:
• Facilitate wheelchair access.
• Provide a ‘low sensory environment’ where the films have
no subtitles, the volume is turned down, the and the
house lights left on low, and adults and children are able
to make noise and move around if need be.
• Facilitate hearing loop users
- We are sorry that at present we cannot provide an auditory
description system for blind or partially sighted customers. We
are investigating these systems and hope that this service will
be possible in the future.
- Generally for daytime Access
screenings doors open at 12.30pm
and film starts at 1.00pm. Other
times can be considered at the time
of the group booking.
- Tickets cost £3.70 per person.
Assistants/carers free.
