Learning at RBCFT

From special guests to schools screenings and from film courses to festivals, there's a lot more going on at the RBC. Our programme aims to stimulate, entertain and inform.

School Screenings | The Film Club

For this reason, the RBC is committed to offering a range of opportunities for all ages to learn about the moving image. We want to give as many people as possible the chance to engage with film in an inspiring way. Our diverse programme is complemented by activities which will appeal to a range of audiences and age groups. We collaborate with local and national bodies, community groups and individual practitioners to create special events tailored to specific audiences and age-groups.

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID 2: Are you 16-24 years of age?
Do you love film?

Would you like to have your say in what films are shown at the RBCFT?

There is a dedicated Facebook page for 16 - 24 year old movie fans that are eager to discuss cinema, learn about films and influence what is shown at the Robert Burns Centre Film Theatre in the future.

We are looking for young people who have:

  • An interest in actively selecting films for screening at the RBCFT
  • An interest in learning about film from all around the world
  • A desire to discuss films and the film industry

For an invitation to join the Facebook group email rbcft@dumgal.gov.uk.

School Screenings

We can arrange schools screenings for most, appropriate films in our programme £3.70 per student when groups of ten or more students are booked in advance. Teachers get one free ticket for every ten booked. If you would like to book a school visit, please contact Alex Murray on 01387 264808 or Alex.Murray@dumgal.gov.uk.

The RBC Film Club

It’s like a book group . . . but with films.

The RBC Film Club meets on Monday evenings at 6.30pm. You are welcome to dip in and out of the Film Club, but if you sign up for a full season, you will receive two complimentary tickets for any film of your choice (one for a half season).

The evening begins with a detailed introduction to the film. After the film there is a chance to socialise over tea and coffee and take part in a relaxed discussion.

So if you love film – come to the RBC Film Club and share your passion with like-minded individuals.
